GUYS!! I’m FINALLY getting around to starting this blog!! Hallelujah!! Anyway let’s start!
I’m pretty sure when Troy asked me to photograph her intimate wedding, which was going to be a destination wedding in Punta Cana, it was one of the best days of my life ha! I may have cried a little (maybe a lot inside). Troy and Reggie had initially thought their big day would be more of an elopement with about 15 close friends and family but in the end, about 40 of their dear friends and family ended up being able to make the trip with them! It had been pretty hazy looking when we first got there and it did end up raining during the ceremony and everyone had to block the rain and sand from getting in their eye balls but the rain held off until right at the end which was perfect! Now luckily everything worked out for the best but the trip started out a little rough. As soon as we got to the resort ( Chic Resort in Punta Cana ) Darren (my boo hunky boo thang) realized he had the wrong luggage. The resort staff called around for us and he was able to find his luggage pretty quickly thank goodness! That same night as we were walking to dinner, I was not paying attention to where I was walking and missed a tiny step in the middle of the lobby and twisted my ankle pretty bad. I thought it would just be sore for the night and no biggie but the next morning I woke up and literally could not walk. I sort of wanted to drown in the ocean because I didn’t know how I was going to be able to walk around all day and night photographing their wedding day when I couldn’t even stand up on my own. I laid back in bed and cried for a while and then Darren helped me get myself together! One of the guests that was with us was a doctor and thought to ask the lifeguard for ace wrap (thank goodness because we couldn’t find any anywhere!!). I was able to ice my ankle and wrap that bad boy up super tight and made it through the rest of the trip and the wedding like that. I hopped around and made it work (thank you sweet baby Jesus!). Over six months later my ankle is finally mostly feeling normal ha! During all this, Troy and Reggie were constantly checking on me to make sure I was okay and were so sweet the whole time (I would have been freaking out if my photographer ended up crippling herself!) but if they were worries, you never would have known! Anyway, I’ll stop rambling now. It was a beautiful trip and a beautiful intimate wedding for an amazingly kind, caring and beautiful couple. I felt so blessed to be able to capture this day for them! Thank you Troy and Reggie!
Make sure you hit play for the music first because photos are always better with some music! 😉
